i have a calm center
that is what i learned
in group retreat this past weekend.
no matter how tangled up i may get
in the busy-nesses of life,
no matter how suffocated i may feel
when the work load is heavy
and personal time gets
squeezed,
there is a calm center
within me.
i felt it
and it brought tears
it was like
oh my god
i just discovered
for the first time in my sixty plus revolutions around our star
that at my core there is a place that is free,
and which when allowed to expand openly
and without constraint
is able to sense the center in any situation.
i discovered that at my core
there is an open space
and not a nervous ball of energy.
high energy i have
but i just learned
after years of trying to figure out how to find peace
that it is
within me.
