"Snapshot" - The Monthly Newsletter of FrankLeonard.com
December 2009

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're having a good December and are looking forward to the holidays.  Much has been happening in our household this month.  My second dad, Cap Gofinch, passed away last week.  Joyce and I had a marvelous year and a half with him, and he with us.   In this time together with Cap, Joyce and I have come to see these mountains and this place as our home, and so here we will be staying.

Tomorrow we will be burying Cap and celebrating his life.  I am working this afternoon on telling the story of Cap's life in word and image for tomorrow, and wanted to take this break to send you something I've been working on a long time.

During this past year and a half, Joyce has made several inroads into our new community and has developed marvelous circles of business and social friends.  I've been much more of a home body, working on the construction of my photography buildings.  I have been much slower at building relationships in the community, but it is happening.  I have met two other local artists who also do figure work.  One of them is a woodcarver and the other a ceramics sculptor.  We have even talked about working with the same model, with each of us creating the same pose, in three different mediums, and then finding a place where our work can be displayed alongside of each other.  That would be most fun!   In addition, I have become friends with an author whose poetry I really like.  All three of these men are very much like me (which is to say beautifully crazy . . :o).  I may in time even entertain that the four of us do some hanging out together.

I have just finished a complete redesign of my website, with some notable additions:

1)  I am announcing the Grand Opening of Frank's Photo studio, specializing in portraits, casual, boudoir, figure, and passport photography.  To kick this off, I am offering you a Free 30 minute photo session and a Free 8-1/2 x 11 print (a $47.95 value). This offer ends January 31, 2010. Call me at 1-831-336-8073 or email me at frankjayleonard@gmail.com to schedule an appointment.  Click Here to Visit the Studio Page on my site (safe for work).

2)  Any link on this site that is not safe for work (artistic figure photos and framed artistic figure photos) is clearly labeled as being not safe for work, so you can surf my site with no worries that something might pop up that is not suitable for the workplace.

3)  Every image I have framed for my Gallery is now viewable on my website, with sizes and prices.  They have been divided into two categories, one landscapes and other non-figure images, and the other figure images (not safe for work).

4)  If you choose to click on the Figure Photography button (not safe for work) on the main menu, be sure to then also check out the new "Editing Corner" button (not safe for work).  This is the place where I will have a chance to be more experimental and playful in my figure photo editing, presenting to you images that are still being edited, so you can see some of the processes involved.  I will be providing ways in which you can give feedback about the images and processes with which I am working.

Well, I could give you a lot more links, but at this point I think I'll just direct you to the
main menu and let you do some exploring all on your own with the new changes!  And again, Happy Holidays!!!

Until next month,

Love,

Frank.
